Introduction

guidelines
Chenodeoxycholic acid 3-sulfate is produced by the action of enzymes existing in the microbial flora of the colonic environment. The major phase II metabolism of bile acids is sulfation mainly catalyzed by the hydroxysteroid sulfotransferase, forming the 3-sulfate conjugate. (PMID:16949895)
